DAIOS COVE RESTAURANTS IN CRETE WELCOME CHEF DIMITRIS MALANDRENIS

Following an 11-year career at Unilever Food in Greece, Italy and the Netherlands, Dimitris Malandrenis entered the culinary world studying at the Escuela de Gastronomia Mexicana in Mexico under the tutelage of the exceptional Yuri de Gortari and Edmundo Escamilla. Dimitris then worked alongside Fernando Martínez Zavala, chef patrón of Yuban, voted amongst the 5 best restaurants in Mexico in 2019, according to the French La Liste. Together, they created the pop-up concept “From Oaxaca to Crete” which travels the world. In April 2020, our visiting chef returned to his hometown of Chania, opened his own restaurant Matzenta Kuzina del Sol to create culinary bridges between traditional Mexican and Cretan cuisine. Dimitris is also co-owner of the Citrus Gastronomy Academy.
