KTIMA BIBLIA CHORA, WINE EVENT IN CRETE

Ktima Biblia Chora is located on the slopes of Mount Pangeon, in a region with a rich historical connection to viticulture. Its name dates back to ancient times, when the Phoenicians traveled through the area and planted a grape variety known as Biblia. From this variety, they produced a wine called Biblinos Oenos, whose fame spread far and wide, giving the region its name — Biblia Chora, meaning ‘land of Biblia’ in Greek. This remarkable legacy lives on to this day. In 1998, oenologists Vassilis Tsaktsarlisand Vangelis Gerovassiliou planted the first vines, covering an initial area of 7 hectares. The first vintage was released in 2001. Today, the estate spans 80 hectares of privately owned vineyards.
