Its visionary success is largely credited to Madame Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, who boldly took over the business in 1805 at just 27. She pioneered key Champagne innovations, including the riddling table, the first vintage Champagne in 1810, and the first blended rosé in 1818.
